How can we be grateful at a time like this?

A message from our CEO & Co-Founder Elizabeth Dearborn Hughes

It has been a challenging year for all of us.

Yet, this holiday season, we are filled with gratitude.

This is not because we are grateful for the suffering and injustice. We are grateful in these times as we navigate them together. We have a renewed appreciation for the gift of life and a commitment to cherish every moment.

We aren’t grateful for economic devastation and disrupted education for millions globally. We find gratitude in every day that we witness our students learn more about themselves and the beautiful mysteries of our world.

We aren’t grateful for illness or separated families. It is through gratitude for the present moment that we find our truest and best selves. Gratitude is an awareness that quiets our minds and allows us to experience the space in which something new is emerging.

“Gratitude is how you take your power back.”

Warmly,
